Douglas Abrams is the founder and CEO of Expara and Expara Ventures, Singapore’s leading incubator fund. He has launched two seed stage (Expara IDM Ventures I and II) and one early-stage venture fund (Extream Ventures) in Singapore since 2007. Douglas is a Managing Director of Expara Ventures Thailand and Expara Malaysia. He was a founding partner of Parallax Capital Management, a funds management company, focused on real estate private equity investment and early-stage venture capital. Prior to coming to Singapore in 2000, Mr. Abrams managed information technology at JPMorgan for 14 years. From 1997 to 1999, he was Global Markets Head of Internet Marketing, and from 1991 to 1997, he was VP and Manager of Investment Banking Technology.
He is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) Business School, where he has lectured on New Venture Creation for undergraduates and Technopreneurship for graduate students since 2001. He has been a Visiting Professor in Venture Capital for the Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok since 2007. Mr. Abrams is Chairman of the Business Angel Network of South East Asia (BANSEA), was previously Deputy Co-Chairman and has been a Director since 2002. He served on the board of the Media Development Authority of Singapore (MDA) from 2009-2010.
Mr. Abrams graduated from the Annenberg School, University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Communications and received an MBA from The Wharton School.

Cato Gullichsen is the co-founder and CEO of InCent Pte Ltd, Singapore and Norway, a company that serves more than 100 clients including DHL, Walt Disney and Ford, by providing personalised mobile marketing solutions. He is also a mentor of Seed Forum. Cato has over six years of experience as an entrepreneur and a mobile marketing expert. He is an entrepreneur who has co-founded several successful companies within the mobile and new media space. These companies comprise of Mobilskole AS, which is the largest provider of easy-to-use SMS-services for schools in Norway and iMarket, an online price comparison search engine.
Cato is also an invited speaker and panelist at various prestigious conferences and events including CommunicAsia, ad:tech and Mobile Internet Marketing and Advertising seminar KL, Malaysia. In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Cato is a co-author of the mobile marketing guide book “Introduction to Mobile Marketing” which was distributed in Norway and Singapore.
Cato was honoured with the Entrepreneur of the year 2009 award from the Norwegian school of Entrepreneurship, Grunderskolen. Furthermore, he was crowned the winner of the prestigious business plan competition Venture Cup 2004 in Norway. In light of his achievements, Cato is a judge of business plan competitions organized by National University Singapore annually. Besides that, Cato was a mentor at the prestigious Startup@Singapore business plan competition 2010.

Since joining Expara in 2011, Rosalind has coached and mentored 25 potential spin-offs from A*STAR (across industry verticals), of which more than half has since spun-off or received follow-on funding. Two of the spin-offs that she mentored went on to receive the prestigious Demo Guru award at the 2012 Demo Asia event in Singapore. She has helped these startups write business plans and create financial plans. Rosalind manages both Expara IDM Ventures and Expara IDM Ventures II, and is Managing Director of Expara Malaysia. Rosalind is an advisor to the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) in Malaysia and to a leading Singapore biotechnology startup, Acumen Research Laboratories. Prior to joining Expara, she has worked as a scientist in labs in the UK, US, Malaysia and Singapore. Rosalind also took on additional responsibility as a Business Development Manager at the Doping Control Centre, Malaysia in 2007. She closed deals and managed clients in a range of industries including solar power, oil and gas, healthcare and food manufacturing companies.
Rosalind’s experience with entrepreneurship began in high school when she headed the newly established Youth Enterprise in fund raising and income generating activities. In university, she was actively involved in AIESEC, the world’s largest youth-run organization providing young people with an opportunity to participate in international internships. Rosalind and her team pioneered the organization and execution of a state-level NGO project and a student assessment center.
As a PhD student in Glasgow University, UK, Rosalind, in addition to working on her thesis project, made it a point to learn more about entrepreneurship through courses in Technology Venture Management at Strathclyde University, and was eventually sponsored to attend the Centre for Entrepreneurship Learning Summer School at Cambridge University. Rosalind has an MBA in Strategic Planning from Edinburgh Business School.
Jan is a Partner at Simon-Kucher’s Singapore office. He has around 15 years of experience in consulting national and international clients, all in the field of strategy, pricing and sales.
Jan leads Simon-Kucher’s Life Sciences practice in Southeast Asia, China and ANZ. Furthermore his verticals include Private Equity firms where he works across their portfolios, and Insurance.
In 2010 he spent several months working out of Simon-Kucher’s Silicon Valley office, working mainly for clients from the technology sector.
Jan has done >20 projects on innovation pricing and product development, including development process redesign.
Jan studied mechanical and business engineering at the Technical Universities of Darmstadt and Berlin, specializing in strategic management and corporate development. He is a frequent speaker at universities, conferences and business events.
Partner - Simon-Kucher
Chetan is a Manager at Simon-Kucher & Partners’ Singapore office and has over 10 years of experience in data analytics and consulting across financial institutions, utilities and logistics.
Chetan has been based in Simon-Kucher’s office in Singapore since March 2017. During his tenure at Simon-Kucher, Chetan has led projects for digital transformation, sales excellence, organizational re-structuring, commercial due diligence for M&A, and market access across various industries.
Prior to joining Simon-Kucher, Chetan was a project lead at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) helping build products and services to commercialize data, tools and knowledge.
Chetan completed his MBA with a specialization in strategy & organization from the National University of Singapore where he also led the consulting club, and has a technical education background through his graduation in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Thapar University in India. He is effectively bilingual in Hindi and English.
